JASON DARBYSON [J.D.]
J.D. Graduated Class of 1996 from Ontario College of Art + Design with a 4 Year Associate Degree in Communication + Design with a Graphic Design Major. In his graduating year, J.D. was awarded the Matthews Ingram & Lake (M.I.L.) bursary for Excellence in Design.
Hired straight out of school as Intermediate Designer with Reactor Art + Design, Toronto.
After a year with Reactor, J.D. joined forces with two OCAD classmates at the now well renowned, Toronto based design firm, Amoeba Corp. J.D. worked as Senior Designer at Amoeba Corp. for 5 years heading up projects for such clients as: Nike, YTV, Toronto Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, Attic Records, EMI Records, Bank of Montreal, Molson Canada, Molson Indy, Youth Culture Group, to name a few.
In May of 2002, he resigned his post at Amoeba Corp. to found re:form [avw] and has since worked for such clients as: Universal Music, Warner Music, 604 Records, Alert Music Inc., SRO/Anthem, Esprit Clothing, Eggplant Music Studio, Ella & Eliott, Optium Inc., Gus* Modern Furniture, Service Inspired Restaurants (Alice Fazooli's & Canyon Creek)
J.D.'s work has been featured in Communication Arts Magazine, Applied Arts Magazine, Print Magazine and numerous other graphic design annuals.
GARNET ARMSTRONG
Graduated Class of 1996 from Ontario College of Art + Design. 4 Year Associate Degree in Communication + Design with a Graphic Design Major.
Hired straight out of school by Universal Music. Garnet has worked with some of the biggest names in Canadian music such as: The Tragically Hip, Matthew Good, Sam Roberts, Hedley, Paul Anka, Jann Arden, Alexisonfire, City And Colour and I Mother Earth.
Garnet has been nominated for 8 Juno awards and was awarded 2 for "CD Design Of The Year"; Tragically Hip's "Yer Favourites" and Jann Arden's "Love Is The Only Soldier".
In addition to Garnet's daily creative director duties, he has also overseen the concept and completion of numerous photoshoots with some of the most well known entertainment photographers.
Garnet has supervised the production of multiple music videos, and has recently helped to direct Hedley's "Never Too Late" (that according to Nielson soundscan was the most played music video in Canada in 2008).
Outside the music industry, Garnet has also worked on a number of freelance commissions for restaurants, trade companies and music festivals.
